Volunteer

Around the world, Habitat volunteers are fundraisers and advocates for the mission.  Volunteers provide valuable service on the job site, in the Habitat ReStore, on work teams, and more. Each person who serves with Habitat for Humanity in Alamance County is a change agent in our community as their efforts combine to build houses providing safe, decent, affordable housing for our Habitat families.

To volunteer with HFHAC on the job site, contact the Habitat office by calling (336)222-8191 or emailing habitat1@netzero.net.  Service opportunities are available for both individual volunteers and volunteer groups.  Volunteer hours on the job site are typically, 7:30 am – 11:30 am, Tuesdays through Saturdays.   To find out where we are working, call (336) 226-3556, extension 27777.

We have 2 ReStores in Alamance County where you could volunteer. To volunteer in the Burlington ReStore, please call (336)222-8292. The Burlington ReStore is open Tuesday – Friday from 9:30 am  – 5:30 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. To volunteer in the Mebane ReStore, please call 919-568-9385. The hours in Mebane are 9:30am-5:30pm Tuesday-Friday and Saturday from 9:00am – 4:00pm.  The ReStore Manager in either store can assist you in scheduling yourself or your group for service hours in the ReStore. Proceeds from the ReStore go toward building houses in Alamance County so even when you serve in the ReStore, you are working to provide housing to those who need it!

There are other ways you could get involved with Habitat, depending on your personal interests. Currently we have people volunteer to provide plants for homeowners, provide lunches/snacks for construction volunteers, lead classes on homeownership for our partner families, or help in the office with mailings. We would love to have people donate decorating skills to set up displays in the ReStores, hold demonstrations for DIY projects, photograph or video events, and other unique ways that are suited to who you are! To volunteer with HFHAC in these and other ways, please contact the Habitat office by calling (336)222-8191 or emailing habitat1@netzero.net.

We look forward to serving with you!
